Promoting Sustainable Development Goals in Africa
Think Energy Africa (from which we have Think Energy Media), is the brand for African Global Response Energy Environment Ltd. (AGREE LTD). AGREE Ltd. is a registered company promoting sustainable development goals in Africa. Its core area of focus is SDGs 4, 7, 13, 14, and 17. The events/projects are the Think Energy SDG Awards, Think Energy SDG Expo, Think Energy ESG Summit, National Energy Quiz, National Innovation Competition, and Think Energy SDG Debates.
Mission
Our mission is to promote sustainable development in Africa by fostering awareness, knowledge, and positive behavioral attitudes toward energy-related issues. Through initiatives like the Think Energy SDG Awards, Think Energy SDG Expo, Think Energy ESG Summit, and National Energy Quiz. Think Energy Africa aims to empower schools, institutions, and businesses to contribute actively to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 4, 7, 13, 14, and 17.

Our vision is to be a driving force in shaping a sustainable energy landscape across Africa. With a commitment to education, innovation, and collaboration, Think Energy Africa envisions a continent where schools, academic institutions, corporations, and individuals work together to address energy challenges and champion sustainable practices. Through its flagship programs, it aims to establish a culture of energy consciousness, inspire leadership, and honor contributions towards sustainable energy.
Historical Background
National Energy Quiz (NEQ) in Ghana
- Since 2018, AGREE Ltd. has been organizing the National Energy Quiz (NEQ) in Ghana to raise awareness about energy-related issues and promote sustainable practices.
- The first edition of NEQ in 2018 involved 5 schools from the eastern region: Pope John Senior High School, Koforidua Secondary Technical School, Koforidua Technical School, Oti Boateng Senior High, and Ghana Secondary Senior High School, Koforidua.
- Koforidua Secondary Technical School emerged as the winner, with Pope John and Oti Boateng securing second and third places respectively.
- The competition continued to grow, with the 2019 edition seeing participation from 96 schools across the Eastern Region.
Purpose of the NEQ and Think Energy Initiatives
- The NEQ aims to influence behavioral attitudes towards energy-related issues among schools in Africa and contribute to the future training of energy studies in Ghana and Africa.
- The Think Energy initiatives, including the NEQ and Think Energy SDG Awards, collectively seek to promote sustainable energy practices, encourage innovation, and recognize outstanding contributions toward achieving sustainable development goals.
Evolution/History of the Project
- Since its inception in 2018, the project has evolved and expanded to include various components:
- Energy SDG Innovation Competition
- Energy SDG CEOs and Vice Chancellor’s Summit
- Energy SDG Expo
- In 2021, the entire program was branded as Think Energy.
- In 2022, a new addition was introduced: Think Energy SDG Awards.

- These awards celebrate corporate and academic institutions demonstrating exemplary leadership in meeting obligations under SDGs.
- The Think Energy SDG Awards is the most prestigious award in this context, offering a prize of one million USD to be shared among winners across different categories.
