Dr Violet Makuku is a Quality Assurance Specialist and Consultant. She is the Director of the Global Quality Assurance Association (GQAA) based in Accra, Ghana. She is a Zimbabwean who holds a PhD in Quality Assurance in University Education, an Ed-Curriculum Studies (with a focus on Curriculum Design, Implementation, Evaluation & Review) BSc Geography Honours and a Diploma in Secondary School Teacher Education.
Dr Makuku has a very strong background in education in general and Higher Education in particular. She is a seasoned Project Manager, Workshops Coordinator & Facilitator, Research Methods & Curriculum Specialist and Educationist, an Academic Reviewer and External Examiner for Masters Dissertations & PhD Theses. She is a board Member of the Times Higher Education Sub-Saharan Africa Rankings (THE-SSA) Board Member and the HE Higher Education Rankings Board Member. She is also the Vice Chairperson of the African Qualifications Verification Network (AQVN), a fellow for the Center for Africa and American Research Studies (CAARS) and Institute of Educational Leadership Practitioners of Nigeria (IELPN) as well as a member of the Organizational Leadership Development Network (OLDN).
Dr Makuku is a Goal getter, focused, hardworking, determined and relentless academic, technocrat & professional filled with empathy and sympathy. She is a Pan Africanist to the core who is an effective and impactful international practical-oriented influencer who is highly passionate, deliberate and intentional about all the work she does at any level with everyone. These attributes led her into doing a lot of voluntary and charity work including entrepreneurship as part of her extension services. She is extremely passionate about the youth, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa's economic liberation and success, mostly through relevant education systems.
